Lemon and poppy seed cake

Okay guys, it was my birthday two days ago and I turned 17! I had the best day with my friends and family and we ate a lot of super delicious food. Of course, I couldn't celebrate my birthday without having cake, so I made a healthy and incredibly delicious cake! It's packed with protein from the amazing protein powder from fitnessguru and it gives the cake such a delicious and sweet flavor.
Here's the recipe:
3 ripe bananas
1 organic lemon
1 scoop vanilla white chocolate protein powder
3-4 tbsp vanilla skyr (or yoghurt/quark)
1 tsp baking powder
80 g ryeflour
10 g psysillium HUSK (or more rye flour)
20 g blue poppy seeds
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Mash the bananas with a fork and mix with all the ingredients in a bowl. Line a baking dish and pour the dough into it. Bake for about 30 minutes and check if it's cooked through by sticking a fork in it and if it's clean, the cake is done.
Let it cool a little and slice into two halves so you can spread some more vanilla skyr in between so it becomes a layer cake. Top with more vanilla skyr, freeze dried berries, sliced lemon or whatever your tastebuds feel like!
Slice, serve and enjoy the awesome cake that is not only good for your soul but also good for your body! Your friends and family won't believe it's healthy because it's so satisfying for everyone's sweet tooth. A treat doesn't have to leave you with a bad feeling inside!
Fitnessguru has a lot of other delicious protein powders and other amazing products, which I'm totally addicted to! They have something for every type of person, just go to their website and check it out!

  1. Thanks so much for the rye flour recipe, I just bought a bunch of bags of organic rye flour only to have failed at sourdough bread first time around, so I decided to look for other delicious rye flour recipes like yours and I feature them in today's recipe roundup on Colorful Canary :) http://www.colorfulcanary.com/2016/10/rye-oh-rye-12-rustic-rye-flour-recipes.html
