Apple compote with dried figs

Autumn calls for the apple-cinnamon combination, which I absolutely love! I added dried figs to this apple-cinnamon compote to make it extra delicious and because I'm so addicted to dried figs lately. This compote doesn't contain any sugar so I promise you it's super healthy and seriously addicting!

The recipe is super easy and can be thrown together in less than half an hour! I had it for lunch with some skyr, but you might wanna have it for breakfast, dessert or a comfort snack. It can be enjoyed cold or warm, just how you desire to enjoy a compote sent from heaven.

Here's the recipe:

4 apples (I know there's five in the picture but I didn't use the last one)
8 dried figs
3 tbsp honey or natural sweetener (for taste)
1 tbsp cinnamon
100 ml water

Chop the apples and the dried figs. Add all the ingredients to a pot over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the apples are soft and all the ingredients are combined.

Serve with some sort of yoghurt and if you'd like a little crunch too, you can add some chopped nuts or your favorite musli/granola!
